This year substitute spring-cleaning for a spring BC adventure. With mild temperatures, it’s the perfect time to load up your car and explore BC with your favourite people.

Pacific Rim National Park has been aptly titled, ‘most majestic spot in the country’. And spring is the perfect time to storm watch, learn to surf, whale watch and trek through some rainforest. You will also be glad to know that the water temperature doesn’t vary much throughout the year. The scenery along the route is beautiful so take your time and pull over, that’s the joy of a driving holiday- you’re in full control. You can also stay in Tofino and Ucluelet they are both world-famous destinations with a ton of family friendly activities and accommodation for any budget.

A little closer to home, historic Steveston is the perfect location for a daytrip. It’s a short and easy drive from Richmond center to Steveston. You can spend hours exploring boutique shops, strolling along the waterfront boardwalk, enjoying a meal overlooking the ocean and buying some fresh-out-of-the-water seafood to take home. It is a quaint fishing village, with over 600 fishing boats – Canada’s largest fleet.

If you’re looking for something slightly more relaxing, then Harrison is the perfect location for you. The kids can play while you soak in the famous mineral hot springs. And the drive is stunning, the Lougheed Highway commonly known as Highway 7, provides an ‘off the beaten path’ link between Hope and Vancouver. The town itself sits between Southwestern British Columbia’s breathtaking mountains and the sandy beaches of Harrison Lake. And, for those looking for a little history, Harrison is soaked with it. This is the ideal family or girl’s weekend retreat.

Victoria is the ideal spring vacation with its mild year-round climate, visitors can partake in fishing, sailing, snowshoeing, some old fashioned spelunking and beautiful drives around the breathtaking coast and forests. The Tsawwassen ferry terminal is easy to access and is only a half hour drive from Vancouver downtown. All you have to do is drive on, park, and go to the top to watch for whales. Once you reach the island get ready for the real adventure to start, we suggest you drive the scenic marine circle route, the coast to coast journey offers panoramic views of the Juan de Fuca, Haro and Georgia straits as well as the Saanich Peninsula. The limited services and narrow and sharp sections will satisfy the wanderlust in anybody.

The Okanagan region is ideal for a spring road trip. Your most popular and beautiful route is the Hope – Princeton highway. There are many of places to stop for a rest, and the drive through Manning Park is one of BC’s finest. Be prepared to wind your way through the heart of the Cascade Mountain Range, surrounded by evergreens and snow-capped mountains. The Okanagan is famous for wine tasting, golfing, and watersports. Bike the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, golf at Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course or hike the Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park. There are over 30 Okanagan wineries in and around Kelowna for wine fanatics or stroll on the lakefront boardwalk. And for those who like a little drive time trivia find out where the name Kelowna originated. Spoiler alert, it has something to do with a bear.
