NHL demands B.C. dealership remove "Go Canucks Go" decal from window

The NHL's legal department laid a body check to Kingsway Honda in Vancouver B.C. demanding that the dealership remove a "Go Canucks Go" decal in the window of the dealership. According to the CBC the dealership received a letter from the NHL stating, "Consumers are likely to be misled that the Vancouver Canucks have an official relationship with your dealership."

More after the jump.

Manager Doug Lum had no choice but to adhere to the demands of the NHL but instead of removing the entire "Go Canucks Go" decal he removed the C and A, leaving ""Go 'nucks Go."

Interestingly Honda is the official car company of the NHL. So what do you think? Is this a serious case of copyright infringement or an innocent case of a local business showing enthusiasm for the home team?

Gary Bettman really has no idea. You have everyone in the city buzzing about an NHL team, the bigger the buzz, the higher the profits for the NHL and the team.  So what if companies jump in on the excitement. Don’t spoil it.
